Pre-Campaign Planning
At O&A, we consider pre-campaign planning key to fund-raising success. As Ben Franklin wisely stated, “If you fail to plan, you plan to fail.”

An O&A campaign planning study will essentially “test the market” to assess the resources available for your organization’s fund-raising campaign. Through personal interviews conducted by outside, objective analysts, philanthropic leaders and potential campaign donors will reveal facts, attitudes and concepts that may not be available to those within the organization. These invaluable opinions will have a direct impact on your campaign. After analyzing the study findings, O&A will present you with a written report, including potential sources of major funds, suggestions for leadership, campaign organization, an assessment of the strength of your case, and a plan of action for your campaign.

Typically we also conduct a development assessment, which evaluates the overall effectiveness of your development program, concurrently with a campaign planning study. The assessment process will analyze your organization’s readiness to face the challenges a campaign effort places on your development department. Presented as part of the O&A campaign planning study report, it includes specific recommendations and an action plan to help ensure campaign readiness and strengthen your ongoing development operation.

Case Statement Development & Campaign Marketing
O&A can develop your campaign’s marketing strategy and oversee the production of all campaign materials. Working with your key staff members, we will create a strong and compelling case statement that captures the fundamental nature of your organization. Your case for support will be written from a donor’s perspective, to an audience of corporate, foundation and community leaders. It will include a complete description of your organization’s history, mission and programs, the objectives to be funded by your campaign, and a comprehensive list of named gift opportunities. We will also develop a campaign theme and a distinctive logo, as well as other campaign collateral that will reflect the unique qualities of your fund-raising effort and effectively position the campaign to your constituency.
